About Me

Hello! I’m Dr. Lisa Scavone, Associate Professor of Mathematics at Cuyahoga Community College. I earned my doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Educational Technology from the University of Florida, and both my master's and bachelor's degrees in Mathematics from the University of Akron.

I teach a full range of mathematics courses at the community college level, from remedial to college-transfer. I have extensive experience teaching online, as well as in blended and traditional environments.

My research interests include online mathematics education, the gender gap in math self-efficacy, and the underrepresentation of women in STEM fields.
